Chaunsa Mango: Types, Taste, Season & Price (2026)

Chaunsa is, for many Pakistanis, the king of mangoes: buttery, intensely sweet and deeply aromatic, named after the town near Multan where it became famous. If you have searched for Chaunsa mango and want to understand the different types, when each is in season and what a box should cost in 2026, this guide covers it, straight from our own Multan gardens.

What is Chaunsa mango?

Chaunsa is a late-season Pakistani mango prized for its rich, honeyed sweetness, smooth fibreless flesh and powerful aroma. It ripens from July into late August, after the early Sindhri and Dusehri have come and gone, which is why true mango lovers treat it as the highlight of the season.

The best Chaunsa comes from the Multan region of southern Punjab, where the hot, dry climate concentrates the sugars. Royal Chaunsa grows and hand-packs ours in these gardens, naturally ripened with no calcium carbide.

The three types of Chaunsa

Black Chaunsa (kala chaunsa): dark-skinned, the boldest and most aromatic, with the best flavour for the price. It is our bestseller. Rs 1,800 per 5 kg and Rs 2,800 per 10 kg.

White Chaunsa (safaid chaunsa): pale golden and premium, the late-season favourite regulars come back for, silky and intensely sweet. Rs 2,100 per 5 kg and Rs 3,300 per 10 kg.

Mausami Chaunsa: the first of the Chaunsa family to arrive, bright and classically sweet, perfect for starting the season early. Rs 2,000 per 5 kg and Rs 3,100 per 10 kg.
